DOC FALERIO

Wine of very ancient tradition, it is present in our territory since the Piceni's age.
It is produced with the best grapes of Trebbiano, Passerina and Pecorino of the sunny hills of the Piceno.
It is excellent combined with fish dishes and light starters.

Area of production:
it is produced in an area with an old history which refers to the roman origins of the old Faleria, today called Falerone (FM). The area of production is exclusively concentrated in the province of Ascoli Piceno, except the territories higher then 700 a.s.l. The DOC has been recognized in 1975. The regulation has been amended in 1997 with the use of two important native species of grapevines, Passerina and Pecorino.

Species of grapevines:
this wine is produced in percentages which vary from 20% to 50% of Trebbiano Toscano, from 10% to 30% of Passerina and from 10% to 30% of Pecorino. Other white fruit species of grapevines cultivated in the Marches can contribute.

Organoleptic features:
the colour of this wine is transparent, soft strain-coloured yellow, with green tints. It has a fresh perfume of green apple and meadow flowers. The wine becomes more aromatic by increasing the percentage of Passerina, to the detriment of the freshness. The taste is slightly acid, dry and tasty.

Wine glass and service:
it has to be served in stem glasses at 8-10 °C.

Food combination:
this wine has a very fresh taste so it well couples with fish dishes, particularly sea food and shellfish. It is also pleasant as aperitif, tasted with the traditional olives of Ascoli Piceno.
